Remembering in Silence

Times like this, I just want to write. So naturally I wrote a post about what's really on my mind. But out of respect for the quiet professionals who do not advertise the nature of their work, I won't be advertising the nature of my thoughts. So instead, I'm leaving this as an uncharacteristically silent post...

For those quiet heroes who operate day in and day out in silence. For those who grieve in silence. We grieve silently with you. And though the world moves on all too quickly, we will never forget.

  1. That has probably been the biggest adjustment to military life for me - a person who is paid to put stories out there - the idea that you don't speak publicly about anything.

Especially at times like these... this post says a lot about what I've been thinking.

  2. Kate - I totally agree. Having a PR background where you actively seek media attention for every victory is so opposite of what's required for op sec. Even six years in I still have to be reminded of this.
